Style is a Timeless Moment With Dapper Dan

Harlem, New York is known for it's rich culture and style is a part of that. Fashion and style icon, Dapper Dan has been a crucial part of making that culture so rich. Dapper Dan is timeless, he is a moment of style. Although Dapper, Dan is a man of intelligence, self expression, and culture. From his eloquent, afro-cuban, luxurious ensembles to his roots for his beloved Harlem, he leaves his mark no matter where he goes.

Dapper Dan and I stood together during the open streets block party on 116th street and had a quick chat about his creative journey with his style. He expressed that he cannot possibly explain his style without mentioning the place that birthed him. The sounds of harlem, the people and the ambiance inspired his colorful vibrant outfits.

As New York Fashion Week (NYFW) approaches, I asked him for some advice for anyone looking to attend and express themselves too. "You always dress for the mission" were his words of encouragement. With a mission in mind, he's always been able to dress for the destination without worrying about the journey and you can too.
