Miguel's Artistic "Caos" That Lead to a New Academic Power

Music has always been a "sure thing" for singer Miguel. It has been the center of his work and self expression as a creative artist. He has a tenured career in the music business that has had us all either believing in romance or self love.

With Miguel's distinct voice, his rise to fame was no mistake. However, although famous, Miguel stands for injustice and believes in using his artistic power to inspire and encourage equality for those who cannot speak for themselves.

His personal power extends beyond a musical note or an album, but to NYU Steinheardt's classroom. Appointed as their new scholar in residence, Professor Miguel will bridge his musical persona with a research one to educate students and the non NYU community alike to bring "caos to power".

I had the privilege in attending Professor Miguel's welcome event and he spoke of using his art as activisim. In the new body of work in both the academic space and in music, Miguel hopes to educate us all on taking what we see and feel around us and allow it to fuel our creativity.

He hopes to "change the" music "industry by redeveloping it where artists can shape the business. I love this idea; I foresee that this may bring about a cultural shift in the way that we enjoy and consume music.

As both a student of entertainment and a consumer, I find that I relate to an artist's messaging before seeing what they've created instead of a packaged corporate roll out. This new shift can amplify Professor Miguel's 3 C's: Creativity, Collaboration and commerce".

"CAOS" is a sample of a bigger body of work that Miguel is planning on sharing with all of us. I'm excited and I plan on staying tuned into the "CAOTIC" moments in whichever way I can and you can too.
